The ‘Realise’ Suite of Productivity Improvement Services Comprises:
- Staff Profiling
SWL has a wealth of expertise in building accurate workloads based on many essential values including standard minute values, store characteristics, sales area, conversion rates, forecasts of transactions and items, and opening hours. Traditionally SWL has followed a two-tiered approach, using automated WFM solutions for grocery retailers with significantly high headcounts, and less complex profiling toolkits for all other businesses. Through utilising this technology SWL can quickly analyse and report where businesses are over or under staffed, helping to protect base service levels and optimise budgets.
- Labour Matching
A managed service for calculating ideal workloads based on current volumes, checking the present fit of staff to demand and then developing a change programme to improve the match (including new shifts to be recruited to and a week-by-week migration plan for each store), with the goal being cost optimisation or reduction whilst protecting the customer service promise.
- Labour Budgeting
Performing work measurement projects, building models of work hours needed by store type, generating ideal shift patterns and costs for each site and then amalgamating this information into a full year’s budget that keeps pace with a customer’s current trading patterns.
The above solutions services are complemented by SWL’s leading productivity knowledge around work standards, labour modelling, and WFM systems development and implementation, helping customers successfully bridge the gap between labour standards generation and accurate staff budgeting and planning.
- Combining our knowledge leadership in productivity service and workforce management solutions, SWL are able to provide an holistic service; performing the work measurement and process reviews, generating the labour standards, building accurate labour models, generating budgets, workloads and shift plans, and then reporting on exceptions to the plan, and supporting and sustaining the process of continual improvement.
- Our vast experience in productivity analysis enables us to quickly find the most profitable business opportunities; we know exactly where to look and what to look for, and which processes and systems will be required to realise these opportunities.
- Through our experience in rolling-out complex workforce management systems for large retail businesses (for example Tesco), we fully understand the risks associated with all project phases, and will mitigate these risks well in advance, ensuring a smooth and successful system implementation.
- SWL has in place a proven blueprint for WFM success that enables seamless business change, for example giving consideration to the specific business culture which quickens stakeholder acceptance and adoption.
- SWL take a concurrent and knowledgeable view of people, systems and processes, so if an opportunity is unearthed in one area, SWL will always be mindful of how the other two areas will be impacted, ensuring no area of operation is jeopardised.
